I often joke that if I could just have one full body massage a week, I would be the happiest woman on the earth. My husband never takes the hint though, and I guess that’s for the best. He may just end up hurting me. I have muscles aches and pains just like everyone else, but I can’t seem to put a finger on a way to keep them down to a minimum. A massage is certainly not a long term fix for anything like that, but they certainly can boost the spirit and sooth away some pain, at least for a little while.
If my husband is not going to give me a full body massage, I probably won’t be getting one any time soon. I am a little too self conscious to have a stranger seeing me in almost nothing. While you would only have to show your back with a back massage, a full body massage may just be a different story all together. I am afraid as lovely as that sounds, I am going to have to pass, or I am just going to have to try to get my husband to take the hint.
I have a friend that does massage, and she tells me that I should never worry about what my body looks like, as she has been trained to do any body type or shape. She says that everyone should experience a full body massage at least once in a while, and that she never thinks about the body she is touching other than how she can help that person feel better. I love her attitude, but I’m not so sure that everyone in her field feels the same way. Besides, it’s not about how they feel; it is about how I feel.
If you have a desire for a full body massage, don’t be like me and chicken out. Go for it. I have had massages in the past and if you have gone to someone who knows what they are doing, you are going to feel heavenly once the treatment is over. They aren’t just for fun and realization either. They can help when someone is stressed out. Stress often does things to the body that a person gets used to feeling, and they don’t even realize they were tense or out of whack until they have gotten a full body massage and some of that tension and tightness has been released. It can be addicting. If you are going to get addicted to something, it might as well be something good for your body and your soul, don’t you think?
