May 2, 2009 – IRVING, Texas — Dallas Cowboys special teams coach Joe DeCamillis was among 12 people injured Saturday when 64 mph winds — just shy of tornado strength — ripped through the roof of the team’s indoor practice facility during a rookie minicamp Saturday. Dr. Paul Pepe, head of emergency medical services for Dallas County, says he didn’t think anybody had life-threatening injuries DeCamillis was seen putting on a neck brace and being taken out of the team’s main office building on a stretcher. Coach Wade Phillips told the Dallas Morning News that DeCamillis suffered a neck injury, but was moving his hands and talking at the hospital. Phillips also said that some of the players had minor injuries. Assistant coach Brett Maxie suffered a laceration on his leg, a source told ESPN.com’s Matt Mosley. Team scout Chris Hall suffered multiple arm injuries after being trapped underneath the frame, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported. Ten of the injured were taken by emergency vehicles. Two others went to hospitals on their own. Cowboys spokesman Rich Dalrymple said all players and coaches were accounted for. The roof came down at about 4:30 pm ET during a severe thunderstorm while the team was going through the second day of a three-day rookie minicamp. At the time, 27 rookies were going through the workout and there were about 70 people in the facility, counting coaches, other team personnel and media, officials said. Maybe somebody would say something to Witten if they could pry him and his teammates away from the steel beam they were clutching to for dear life while other people needed help.

Exactly my point… If you pay attention I said “not everyone has the intestinal fortitude to think while in moments of stress and shock!” Meaning that in the first 30 seconds of this happening which would be described as thinking on your feet ;they all ran around pointing fingers and holding on to bars… Im not talking about the five minutes after they finally realized what was going on!
How old are you 10? “gold star retard” What kind of an elementary grade level insult is that?
pgh5002 says
Actually you didn’t make a point at all. And thinking on your feet would be preserving yourself first. As running into a blind mass of tarp, steel rods, and electrical wiring would serve no purpose other than to further injure more people. Its retards like you that make the online communication gross. As you judge peoples actions from a keyboard. I’m guessing intestinal fortitude is a phrase you learned watching tv drama and fake pro wrestling. This is real life.

That’s not Witten you fucking Moron.

Actually I learned it as a Decorated Marine corps combat veteran in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Youre welcome!
Next time try and find out who youre talking too because its people like me that risk their lives for idiots like you to sit and talk shit to the people who fought for your freedom!
Running into a blind mass of steel, bullets, shrapnel in order to save fellow Marines was a daily event for us, once again youre very welcome for your freedom to type what ever you desire on the internet

LOL … must be a fan of CNN. I must recant they are not all horrible. I am just tired of the media as a whole. Everyone is trying to posture and go the dramatic instead of just giving the facts. You have to admit some of the questions are just dumb? Umm where you terrified when the building came crashing down around you? Nahh all in a days work.

Your statement reminds me of the kid in high school who punched a wall to look tough, but in the end wound up with a broken hand and just looked plain stupid.
arohn2007 says
@MarcusKiner Yeah, that probably isn’t the smartest thing he’s done. hehe
arohn2007 says
In the description is says “when 64 mph winds just shy of tornado strength) actually that statement is false..64mph is in the mid range of a F0 tornado which is the weakest tornado catagoery, I’m a trained severe storm spotter
arohn2007 says
btw, a F0 has winds of 40-72 mph
MarcusKiner says
I’m talking about rugby players who call football players pussies for wearing pads. If you catch my drift lol
arohn2007 says
hehe, point taken! :D

And at least you don’t see football players walking around talking like they just sucked the air out of a helium balloon!

I was a work about a mile from here when this happened. I remember the storm very well. We all thought there was a tornado, but, as it turned out, there wasn’t. Feel bad for the poor guy who was parilyzed.
