TheGregEgg says
@ShannyBaby555 No, the whole process of Lymph Drainage. It sounds like BS to me.
AntediluvianNinja says
@TheGregEgg It’s not BS in itself, but it only really benefits people who have damaged lymph tissue (who actually *need* it). The idea that it helps the rest of us is, indeed, wishful thinking. While I’m sure plenty of people walk away happy from a lymphatic massage, well… it’s a massage. They tend to do that. It has nothing to do with lymph drainage since lymph tissue drains itself through normal daily muscle movement.

Lymph Drainage is fantastic and should be mandatory after all surgeries and in a physical injury cases. I Actually studied with the Dr. Vodder school of North America and have seen amazing success with clients.
What I observe here is a different application process compared to what I learned almost like she’s mixing different genres of drainage.

Here in U.S. (A) Esthetitions, MT, OT, and PT are certified by the Orig. school. Some Health Insurance companies cover the cost of MLD ( manual Lymphatic Drainage) under certain conditions. However, so far (a) Esthetitcians are the only practitioners that must call it detox and their payment is not covered by Health Insurance companies-meaning the client has to pay out of pocket (at least here in NY.

@VasPeLeK $60 – $90 depending on area and level of skill.

@AntediluvianNinja Not exactly…. considering the toxic environment we live in and the stuff we breathe, eat and drink, lymphatic drainage should be part of all preventative health practices. Massage is not Lymphatic work at all. Massage works with muscles and when you massage into a muscle you are not working on the lymphatic vessels. Plus massage works distal to proximal, and lymph is done proximal to distal. You are not distinguishing the various systems. Do not be mislead.

@kroikye NO, not unless you are pushing it in the wrong direction. In fact it is a healthy thing to keep the breasts drained. And I have had many a ‘lump’ turn out to be a full node and after being drained it was gone. Sometimes I see breast pain which is an axillary node full and backing up into the breast nodes. Easy to open and pain is gone.

@stregoria Dr. Bruno Chikley is who I learned from who was then affiliated with the Upledger Institute. It is a little different than Vodder, However, the lymphatic system is designed to be worked a certain way. If directionality and pressure are observed and followed and if there are results, that is all that matters to me.

Hi Athena, I really meant no disrespect at all. The sound wasn’t working on the computer I first saw the video on so I didn’t know there was sound. I apologize. I will look up Dr. Chikley because the more information a therapist has the better. Thank you for your Posting and reply. :)
